Wine list & descriptions.Our wines:We have chosen each of these wines for their exceptional and individual qualities, and excellent value for money. This has enabled us to compile a short list offering something for everyone. The wines are great just to drink alone and really make a great accompaniment to complement our food.

All of these are sold at a bottle price of £17.00 or by the glass at £4.00

Sparkling:

Prosecco di Vetriano Castel Boglione (Italy)

Very fresh on the nose with grapey character. The flavour has a creamy soft texture with hints of apple and a gentle, yeasty finish.

Whites:

Sunnycliff Chardonnay 2007, Victoria (Australia)

Lovely nectarine and pineapple aromas, with a rich and full-flavoured palate.

Viňas del Vero Gewűrztraminer, Somontano 2007, Spain

From a leading modern winery situated in the foothills of the Pyrenees. A delicious Gewűrz displaying racy, citrus fruit with typically generous floral aromas.

CJ Pask Sauvignon Blanc, Hawkes Bay 2008 (New Zealand)

From the top class winery on the outskirts of Hasting (NZ). This superb Sauvignon is more savoury than most, with delicious grassy notes, green pepper and a lovely freshness.

Chapel Down Flint Dry 2008 (Tenterden, Kent)

Dry and refreshing on the finish with well balanced fruit and fine aromas of roasted nuts.

Rosé:

Miguel Torres ‘Santa Digna’ Cabernet Sauvignon Rosé Reserve, Central Valley 2008, Chile

An intense and concentrated, deeply coloured rosé with bags of juicy blackcurrant fruit.

Reds:

Chateau de Lancyre Vieilles Vignes, Pic St Loup, Coteaux du Languedoc 2006 (France)

A wonderfully ripe and complex wine from old vines, with plum fruit flavours and dark cherries. Some of the best wine around. A Stunner!

Feudi di San Marzano Negroamaro, Puglia IGT 2007 (Italy)

Black cherries and mocha chocolate aromas with subtle spice and herby black fruit background.

Cousino-Macul Antiguas Reservas Cabernet Sauvignon, Maipo Valley 2006 (Chile)

This full on Cabernet Sauvignon is concentrated and complex, with silky blackcurrant fruit and cherry and spice hints. A classic.

Sweet:

Chateau Le Fage, Monbazillac 2006 (half bottle) (France)

A superb dessert wine from near Bergerac. Brimming with ripe complex and intense botrytised fruit. Especially fresh with fabulous bright acidity.

Moscatel Goyesco, Delgado Zuleta (Spain)

A fragrant, grapey Muscat nose, with dried figs, dates and glace fruit flavours. A very sweet and really refreshing wine from Jerez. Divine and diverse!

White

Perfectly balanced, this one is packed full of ripe apricot flavours.

Red

Rayun Carmenere, Central Valley, 2008 (Chile) Glass £3.00 Bottle £14.

Leafy, blackcurrant fruit, very soft tannins and deep, deep colour.

Champagne

Michel Arnauld Brut Réserve grand cru à Verzenay, (France)

A rich, floral and elegant champagne made from 2/3 Pinot Noir and 1/3 Chardonnay Exquisitely balanced and delicious with good length and distant hazelnutty tones.

Chardonnay

A big, richly textured, and deeply intense wine, with layers of toast and praline over honey, sweet oak spices and lashings of ripe citrus fruit. From winemaker Gary Farr’s Bannockburn vineyard.

Brunello di Montalcino

DOCG, Sesti, Castello di Agiano 2002 (Italy)

A seductive, mature and complex wine that balances savoury, smoky notes with rich black fruit flavours and finely grained tannins. From a star Tuscan estate that epitomises the bio-dynamic ethos.

Riesling

Laumersheimer Kapellenberg Spätlese, Weingut Knipser, Pflaz 2003 (Germany)

This medium dry, full bodied Reisling, has enticing perfumes of ripe, soft tropical fruits and fresh lime. In the mouth, the wine is perfectly balanced and juicy with a fine floral presence alongside soft peach and red fruit flavours.
